Broome has developed a business continuity plan to service our policyholders while ensuring the continued health and safety of all our customers and employees.
This includes following the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the State of New York:
We have communicated with our team to stay at home if they or someone they have been in contact with, show any symptoms associated with COVID 19.
If we determine that it is necessary to close the office, employees will be working remotely.
The claims department will be available 24/7 as they always are. The claims coverage extension is 222. They have a specific plan in place to ensure that the all claims are handled in a timely manner.
You can reach any BCIC employee via email at any time during business hours.
To reach your underwriter by phone, you must dial their extension, otherwise a message will be left in the general mailbox, which will significantly delay their response times.

As a reminder, payments can be made on line at www.bcicny.com. Please encourage your policyholders to use this payment option if at all possible.
Business Interruption Coverage
We recognize that there will be many questions regarding Business Interruption.
NYS DFS has issued a directive that we issue a policyholder notice to all Commercial Policyholders by Wednesday March 19th explaining their BI coverage.
The attached letter will be mailed to all Insureds early next week, explaining that COVID 19 is not a covered Peril under Business Interruption.
